Alaska contains many different types of species that are becoming extinct due to the large amount of poaching crimes. Polar bears are killed for their fur and Narwhals are killed for their large tusks.

People in the Arctic are constantly building more roads and towns. These towns serve as obstacles for some animals, and they are forced to cross through these towns to get to their feeding grounds. Sometimes they are killed or scared off. As a result they starve. Human are also using pesticides in these towns which can kill other animals in the way.
The hunt for Fossil Fuel is particularly damaging to the Arctic as it is difficult to both work and make pipelines safe because of the permafrost. The native people have complained that the caribou herds are getting smaller and their land and water sources are contaminated. Without clean water and land for vegetation to grow naturally, it is a major threat to the entire Arctic ecosystem.
Global warming has become a major issue in the Alaska Tundras. Human impact has caused the melting of the tundras permafrost and the invasion of animal species and plants. It effects the people who are dependent on these natural resources and the animals trying to survive.
